We’ve all heard the rumors of Microsofts’ plan to buy Mojang, the developer of Minecraft, so as of today it’s been finalized. For 2.5 billion dollars Mojang will join Xbox studios in the near future. One concern for some gamers will be whether or not the game will still be available across platforms, like the ps4. Rest assured guys, as Microsoft states that gamers of all mediums will have Minecraft made available to them.
For others a debate on whether or not the merging of these companies will either excel or diminish the potential of what Mojang had to offer. However with Markus Persson already hanging his hat claiming “as soon as this deal is finalized, I will leave Mojang and go back to Ludum Dares and some small experiments” leaves many not so optimistic. Our hopes are that the originality of Minecraft continues on with the merger and that there well be a light at the end of this tunnel.
